Hello, all:
I’m going to start off today with an apology for a bit of self-reflection; I would’ve done this on the precise 100th post yesterday, but it would’ve ruined the flow of the post. In any event, even thought the 101st post isn’t quite as exciting as the 100th, it’s still a marker, no?
It’s been a little over nine months since I first made my way onto the ‘Stack with my introductory post back in December ‘22:
At the time I wasn’t committed to a regular schedule; my posts were at random and about whatever topic struck my fancy. Then, around March, I decided to start weekly writing updates. Unrelatedly, this was also the time I finished watching Marvel’s Agents of Shield, which was a fantastic show. But I digress.
Then came Notes. New friends! Writing contests! Excitement! Huzzah! Between
, ‘s 100 Word Stories, and Brian Reindel’s , among others I’m sure I’m forgetting, I was encouraged to get things shipshape around here and into a really proper schedule, along with a neat little guide to my own corner of the ‘Stack:All that led to where we are now: the Weekly Muse, Ask the Captain, the Gaseous Girl serial, various and sundry other stories, and an upcoming Captain Happily Married serial. (In which, or sooner, there will be an acid-drool baby, per
‘s request). I’ve enjoyed reading and learning from so many as well: ‘s Triverse, ‘s Ferris Island tales, and , who inspired the happy birthday chant that may be coming to a Substack or Note near you! (#ominousclapping). In the words of my area, all y’all done good.Closing Time
Fun personal fact: I tried coffee twice. Unfortunately, once was at a Starbucks kiosk in a Target and I didn’t know what I was doing or what to order, and the other time was a vending machine at a break room during my college job unloading boxes for UPS. Needless to say, I never really took to the stuff. For me, soft drinks are what gets it done, primarily Mountain Dew or Mello Yello. In any event, along with the subscribe button, rather than adding a “Buy Me a Coffee” button as some have done, that’s why you’ll see a “Buy Me a Soda” button/tip jar. It should by all rights be “Buy Me a Soft Drink” as that’s what I call them, but I couldn’t make soft drink fit in the customizable button space. Anyhow.
On an unrelated note, this week on Ahsoka, (SPOILERS), we were finally introduced to the Big Bad, Thrawn, who I must say has the best entrance music in Star Wars yet. I present it below for your entertainment and potential use, if you should need to enter a meeting with flair or something along that line.
Until next time,
Michael
