As those of you who’ve been reading my humble little weekly newsletter know, for the past several months I’ve been posting one chapter at a time from my very first novel, Quest for the Lost Island, which I wrote way back in the halcyon days of my youth (i.e., the late ‘90s.) It’s cringe, it’s terribly cliche, and it’s ripped off from Narnia, Redwall, and everywhere else you could think of, but all the same, it’s my first one and I still have some affection for it in that way a writer really does, you know?
Anyway. You may remember back in January when I finally introduced the Raccoon Brethren, and since then they’ve continued to play a part in the story. I’m sure you probably thought to yourself, “Hey, I wonder what those raccoons actually sounded like?” Indeed, one of you actually asked!
Well, ask no more, my friends, because I present to you now the definitive recording of the Raccoon Brethren war cry, as presented by me and my daughter, who’s six and who rather enjoyed playing the part of a villainous raccoon background vocalist. Enjoy!
