Monday Writing Update
I’m between works at the moment; as mentioned last week, I’ve finished Bonnieditch Crumpleshnort and the Diamond of Rumentana, and am nearly finished with my final edit of Who Killed Ron Raven?, the third volume in the Constance Series, so you can expect Ron Raven sometime this year. I’m not sure what to write next; I could continue the Constance Series and do a sequel to The Ballad of Evinrude and Eulalie, or a sequel to WKRR, or something else entirely. I started a draft of a thing about elves, gnomes, and nixies a while back and left off in order to do the pirate novel; I could take up that. Perhaps a poll might help. What say you, tiny yet loyal fanbase?
Kindle Vella Stories
These progress apace. The Return of the Space Otter is at 16 episodes, so I will likely be wrapping that up soon. As for The Malevolent Med-Student, the Superhero, and the Duck, Vol. 2: the Wrath of Thrud!, however, that will go on likely until the end of the year, or until my inner muse tells me that it’s time for volume three. I don’t really have a plan for that one. The space otter ones I’m thinking will be about twenty episodes each, give or take, while the superhero serials will be longer storylines, like the comics. I don’t think I’ll introduce more Kindle Vella stories beyond the space otter and the superheroes for now, but I could change my mind. You never know.
Closing Time
And now, an excerpt from my (eventually) forthcoming Bonnieditch Crumpleshnort and the Diamond of Rumentana.
“Oh, my…” gasped Bonnieditch, truly dismayed for perhaps the first time in her life. She had heard of sea monsters, of course, everything from krakens to serpents; as she’d explained to the captain, she had long ago written these all off as legends. She couldn’t write this off. What loomed before her eyes now, titanically massive and incomprehensibly angry, was the absolutely largest penguin she had ever seen.
Yep. I threw in a penguin monster. Because, why not?
Until next time,
Michael
