I tell you, basic door security is such a problem on the sci-fi shows I actually made a note of it when someone on Babylon Five asked "Who is it?" before they opened their door. Because NO ONE EVER DOES. You always hear the door chime and then the person inside says "Enter!" or "Come on in!" or what have you, and then they get surprise-attacked by a Drakh or a Borg or a Klingon or whatever. But do they ever ask who it is first? Nooooo.
