Previously on Dawn of the Super Surgeon, the Malevolent Med-Student and Candystriper had been captured at last, but Samuel Superlative the Third had been turned into a sugar plum! What happens now? We’ll find now, but first, as ever: this serial and all others can be found below at the Edison City Index!
And now, the conclusion!
It is important to note here that what happened next wasn't really anyone's fault. Meg had retrieved the sugar plum that had been (and might still be) Samuel Superlative the Third from the baseball stadium, but she couldn't think where to hide it safely without getting the D.E.R.P. involved. So she hid it in the closest place possible: the family refrigerator, and warned everyone in the family to make sure not to eat the sugar plum by mistake. Unfortunately, she didn't quite catch everyone.
One Week Later
Tamsin, the second of Meg's two younger sisters, had just come in one afternoon having spent several long hours practicing rapid shifts into her Frisbee form and back, and she was starving. She opened the fridge door in search of something, fully prepared to whine “Mo-ooom, there’s nothing to eeeeat!” when she saw a sugar plum sitting there right next to the milk.
“Cool!” thought Tamsin. “Candy!” And so she reached out, and bit off a good half of it.
“Hey, we have any more of these?” she said, holding up the half-eaten sugar plum.
The sound that Meg Atomic made was somewhere between a shriek and a gasp of horror.
“What?” said Tamsin, her mouth still full.
Somewhere, untold light-years away, the Green Moth sat on a cold rock on an even colder moon, trying once again to see if she recognize any of the few stars that glimmered faintly in the deep black sky. Then, all at once, her face twitched.
It was an old feeling, one she hadn’t felt in a while and had never expected to feel again.
“Something,” she said, “is wrong on Earth.”
“It is that,” said a voice.
The Green Moth jumped. “Who are you?”
“Samuel Superlative,” he said. “The Third.”
