Ordinarily on Fridays I’ve been writing a column for Ask the Captain, or of late an angel story, and there will be more of the latter in the new year (spoilers!) but for now, I thought I might go ahead and do a year-in-review post. Because why not?
First off, thanks very much to the 83 (!) of you who have so kindly chosen to subscribe to this particular corner of the Internet among the many others out there. Whether you read my stories in quiet enjoyment or you leave a comment, I do see you, and I appreciate it. (I don’t literally see you, of course; that would be weird and more than a little creepy. But you know what I mean. Anyway.)
Moving on. The ‘Stack tells me I’ve written 175 posts since I started in December of 2022, although I really turned a corner around and got things going properly in May. Two full series have been completed, both of which you can find at the Edison City Index.
If you liked them, you’ll particularly want to read Gaseous Girl and the Winds of Time, as that one will be going behind the paywall as of next Monday. Alternatively, you can click on the below special offer below then and take advantage of my special Christmas ‘23 sale, 50% off for paid subscribers, if you upgrade now before the end of the year.
I have set up an official Archive page where the paywalled stories will live now, and I may add one further section in the new year where the angel stories will live; I’m still pondering that.
Meanwhile, I plan to continue writing Edison City stories, responses to
‘s fiction prompts, and whatever sparks an idea; also the Weekly Muse read-along of my very first novel will roll on, with lots more cringe to come (just wait till the beavers). Finally, if possible, I’d love to hear from you, all you 83 readers out there. Anything you’d love to see in the next year? Characters you’d love to see? Characters you’d just as soon not? Ideas? Thoughts? Song suggestions maybe? Go wild!
Until next time,
Michael
