In this mad wholesome corner of the 'Stack, you'll find stories about angels and other unusual characters, random lists of amusing observations every Thursday, and ongoing serials about the superheroes of Edison City. Welcome to my world.
I just want to say I love the psychology/theology on display in this episode. Captain Midnight is SO full of himself he's going to argue with the divine and make demands. But he's a hero, right? What about all the good things I did? But at the end of the day, it's all just for his own vanity, his own gratification. And Heaven don't play that game.
Is this Captain Midnight the same guy who used to be on American network radio in the '30s and '40s? "Brought to you every day, Monday through Friday, by the makers of OVALTINE!"
No, different guy. From what Wikipedia tells me that guy's main deal was being a really good airplane plane; my Captain Midnight has the ability to resurrect himself. At least he did, anyway.

> Look at all the people I’ve saved! The apocalypses I’ve averted
...cast out demons and performed mighty deeds in your name... ✅
> but actually, the point is, with my abilities, I don’t actually have to!
Uh oh, hubris
That went south quickly...
(So, soon we get to find out what happened to Candystriper, yes??)
Absolutely yes! As soon as I do! :) [Mostly likely next week, but I could be wrong].

Okay, then. Just like my fictional canine superheroine Cerberus doesn’t resemble her male Greco-Roman myth namesake at all…
